I'm still alive!

I know, i know... I owe an apology to those of you who have faithfully checked my blog only to find nothing new since January!!

I'm sorry! ; )

So, let me catch you up a bit.
January was an exciting month for us because we officially became house owners. Once we signed and our mortgage began, we decided we better start thinking about buying some furniture to fill up our new house that we'll be moving into this summer... (If only we knew how expensive furniture was! We're gonna be lucky to fill up two rooms by the time we move in!! haha)

Hard at work....

So our schedules quickly became full with leafing through ads during the week and checking out different stores on the weekend. Shopping is hard work! : ) Doesn't leave much time for getting the normal house work done... And in our cramped apartment, the clutter and dirty dishes pile up fast! I'm really looking forward to all the space we will have in our new home. A whole separate room for laundry! And a kitchen with a DOUBLE sink! Ooh la la! And a bedroom large enough that we can each get out of bed on our own side... (I'm sure Dennis won't miss me fumbling over him to get up in the mornings!)

Our first purchases...

Dennis testing our couch ~ shopping for bed slats is a new experience

Our guest bed (right) ~ Our bed (left) which has a 20 WEEK delivery time!!! insane.

One of the ways we've been channeling our moving excitement lately is by throwing our energy into packing. That has a double benefit--first, we get our packing done a little earlier, and hopefully a little more orderly; and second, the clutter gets boxed up, which leaves our apartment looking better and better! It's handy that Dennis can bring home an endless supply of Chiquita boxes. Let's hope our clothes don't end up smelling like bananas...

11 days and counting...!

We are excited for you guys. And if that is really your guest bed, then count Shirley and me in as visitors! :-)
(unless everything smells like bananas, of course)
